Per the school calendar, D88 has a scheduled early dismissal for students on Thurs, Dec 22nd. Full-Day and P.M. Pre-K at 10 AM; 10:30 at PH Miller & Cent; 11:20 at Middle; 12:20 at EGJ. High School follows finals schedule. Happy Holidays!

Plano School District is currently experiencing a phone outage on Monday, December 19th. Please email your building secretary with any needs, including absences for your students. Email addresses can be found on the school's web page, under the staff icon. We will send an update when phones are back in service.

During American Education Week, we celebrate the power of public education and thank the District 88 educators and staff who do so much to make our public schools the cornerstone of our democracy, prosperity, and strength.


The Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee is offering monthly parent workshops in Spanish, hosted by psychologist Dr. Ferney Ramirez. The next workshop will be November 14th, entitled "The Power of Influence." The meeting is 5-6:30 PM at Emily G Johns. Sign up today at www.plano88.org.



Emily G Johns and Plano High School are sponsoring a Food Drive in conjunction with the Plano Rockin' Christmas Event. Community members may drop off donations of canned goods and non-perishable food items in the bin located in the lobby at either school or the Administration Office located at 800 S Hale Street in Plano. All proceeds will be donated to the Kendall County Community Food Pantry and satellite locations.

Say hello to Randy the Reaper! The Plano School District Administration Office team created the scarecrow for the Plano Area Chamber of Commerce scarecrow contest. On nice days, you will see Randy outside the Administration Office at 800 S Hale Street.


The Plano High School Theater Department is presenting Alice's Adventures in Wonderland this weekend. Tickets are on sale now! Go to showtix4u.com and search Plano to purchase tickets in advance. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Tickets are $5 per person and we will only be accepting cash. Park in the east side parking lot and enter through door 28. The play is at 7pm on Friday October 7th; 7pm on Saturday October 8th; and 2pm on Sunday, October 9th.
