A MESSAGE TO OUR STUDENTS:
As your superintendent, I want to take the time to send a message to all of you. I am truly sorry your lives have been impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak in such a significant manner. I realize that many of you lost opportunities this spring to participate, compete and perform in extracurricular activities, and for some of you, the result of these cancellations is incredibly impactful on your lives.
Please know that our focus and priorities will continue to be on keeping children emotionally and physically safe, fed, and engaged in learning. We will make every effort to minimize instructional loss, continue student learning the rest of the semester, and provide some levels of educational routines and structures for our students and families. We will continue to work as a district to provide opportunities for learning to continue at home.
As ISBE noted, e-learning “does not eliminate the teacher, but instead works to develop a partnership with families to provide instructional remote learning in these difficult times. The plan for our district’s remote learning plan can be found at the provided link here. Throughout the coming days/weeks, you will continue to get notifications from your teachers and administrators with learning opportunities to keep students engaged in learning.
As information continues to become available from the State of Illinois, we will communicate future plans moving forward through email, text, and phone messages. If you have a concern and need to speak with someone, you may call the main school number. Designated personnel will be answering and returning calls remotely.
UN MENSAJE PARA NUESTROS ESTUDIANTES
Como su superintendente, quiero tomarme un momento para enviarles un mensaje a todos ustedes. Realmente lamento que el brote de COVID-19 haya impactado sus vidas de manera tan significativa. Me doy cuenta de que muchos de ustedes perdieron oportunidades esta primavera para participar, competir y realizar actividades extracurriculares, y para algunos de ustedes, el resultado de estas cancelaciones es increíblemente impactante en sus vidas.
